Tacita Dean is renowned for her commitment to analogue film, for her exploration of the medium as her primary artistic practice and for her dedication to the preservation of the 20th century’s exemplary creative form. Dean’s films act as extended meditations on the notion of portrait, in a very concrete way as a person - the subject - before the camera and, in a wider sense as a portrait of the medium itself. The british artist Tacita Dean visits Nürnberg for a screening of her films, hosted by the Academy of Fine Arts and presented at the Filmhaus Nürnberg. A programme of films spanning from 1995 to 2011will be presented: with introductions by the artist. www.mariangoodman.com/artists/tacita-dean/ Foto: Tacita Dean | Merce Cunningham performs STILLNESS ...
